Odiseas Centroamericanas is an organization working to find and promote cultural stories from Central America, the focus of this cultural book printing project. It was started by Efrain Figueroa and Rosibel Ochoa when they discovered a lack of stories that reflect the rich cultures in the different countries of Central America, particularly when it came to children’s and young adult literature.
By collecting the stories and putting them into fun, bilingual formats of cultural book printing, they are able to both reach a broad audience and ensure that children can learn about their heritage.

This project was a perfect bound book printing for the story, “The Last Squawk of the Imperious Macaw,” and it’s as colorful as it sounds! The vibrant cover encourages readers to pick it up and see what tale lives in its pages. The story relates an Ancient Mayan myth that readers of all ages and backgrounds can appreciate.

Why did you select Dazzle Printing?
I was looking for an initial small run of perfect-bound books, that I could get promptly for an upcoming literary event. I chose Dazzle Printing out of many printing companies I identified via the web. Promptness and a reasonable price were initial factors.
How was your experience with Dazzle Printing?
Having carefully inspected the books upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with how well they turned out, exactly how I imagined them. I was concerned about the final cover illustration colors and text on the spine, but they all turned out just fine.
How do you feel about the quality and timeliness of your project?
I am very satisfied with the cover and interior, as well as how the title and author name shows even in the book’s spine. I needed a book that looked professionally finished, and that is what I got. The calculator provided for estimating the cover dimensions was right on. The book came out as I hoped, with no glitches in between, and within my time frame.
Would you use Dazzle Printing again? Why?
Yes. I hope to do a larger run in the future, and will definitely contact Dazzle Printing, as the units I already received are proof of the quality I will get.
Is there anyone you wish had been different?
I got a very clear explanation about how to count the pages, estimate dimensions and bleed margins for the book, having consulted Dazzle Printing once. It would be even better if some of this info is included in the website, to assist beginning publishers.
